Retrievel of SMS from an e-mail address

1. Send an SMS from your mobile phone to +34638444900 with the text "ALTA mymail@mydomain.com" where mymail@mydomain.com is the email address where you will receive the SMS that users send.

2. You will receive an SMS confirmating that the provisioning is on-going

3. You also will receive an email at mymail@mydomain.com with a confirmation link and the cellular number assigned to you (i.e. +346384449XY). The confirmation link must be clicked to confirm within the next 2 hours.

4. All the SMS that users send to the number assigned to you (+346384449XY) will be forward to your e-mail account (mymail@mydomain.com) so you can retrieve them there.

This is an extremelly simple and useful API, free of charge to develop you mashups and applications.

Look for Votaporra, a simple voting application written in Pyhton at http://open.movilforum.com or http://code.google.com, that retrieve and count the results of a SMS voting procedure (no.users, no.votes) from a POP3 account. This is one of several API´s of Telefonica available at open.movilforum.com open souce community website, unfortunatelly currently only in spanish.
